2016 Favourites

In 2016 there were a lot of products I used again and again. Here are a few of my 2016 favourite products.

Spectrum Brushes:
During 2016 I bought quite a few Spectrum Brushes. They are not too expensive, they are very pretty looking, they are very soft and they don’t malt. The brushes are vegan and cruelty registered. I first heard of Spectrum Brushes on Twitter, I noticed a lot of beauty bloggers were using them and recommending them. I also saw celebrities were starting to review and advertise them. I bought my first set in the sale and I couldn’t stop using them. Recently my collection has grown and I now understand why they are always selling out. You can visit Spectrum brushes at: https://www.spectrumcollections.com/

MUA Highlighter:
I am obsessed with highlighters and I think it has to be my favourite make up product to apply. My friend recommended the MUA highlighter to me this year. It is only £3.00, is very pigmented and comes in a lovely pink or white shade. I highly recommend this highlighter because it is great value for money. http://www.superdrug.com/MUA/MUA-Undress-Your-Skin-Highlighting-Powder—Pink-Shimmer/p/633150

MAC Lipstick (Persistence):
I think everyone knows how much I love my MAC lipsticks! A shade I used a lot last year was ‘Persistence’. This is a matte shade and is a nude lipstick. This shade goes with a lot of make up looks and it is quite subtle.

Lazy Days Zoella Candle:
I love candles. I always have to light a candle whilst I am chilling in my room. When I heard that Zoella was bringing out a range of candles I was really excited. My boyfriend bought me ‘Lazy Days’ for our lazy Sundays. It is a calming scent and quite fresh. They are £10.00 from Superdrug.

Instax Mini 8:
I have had my Polaroid for a few years now and I still love it. The film is quite expensive but the Polaroid does capture the cute memories.

NYX Liquid Lipsticks:
NYX came to my local boots store this year so I have been trying a few of their products. I have tried their liquid lipsticks and they are amazing! They stay on for a really long time, they have lots of different shades and they are only £6.50. They are light on the lips which is great because some liquid lipsticks are very thick.

MAC Air of Style:
I have never tried MAC perfume before but I love MAC Air of Style. It is quite a fruity scent and it stays on for a while. It’s a little pricey for just 30ml, but the smell is gorgeous!

Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray:
Urban Decay setting spray is the best setting spray you can buy in my opinion. I just couldn’t believe how long my make up stayed on for – especially after a night out. It is about £22 but I do believe it is worth if. I bought mine from Debenhams!

Sleek I Divine Palette Enchanted Forest:
I have bought from Sleek a highlighter, eyebrow and contour kit but I have never purchased their eyeshadow until last year. I loved the shades in this pallete and they blended nicely. The eyeshadow is pigmented and stays on. I love how I can pop this small pallete into my bag or take it on holiday. I bought mine from Boots: http://www.boots.com/en/Sleek-I-Divine-palette-Enchanted-Forest_1744236/

iPhone 6s:
Another thing I loved last year was my new iPhone 6S. I had the iPhone 5s before which I had for 3 years. It had been dropped a few times, was a little bit scratched, the silent button had broke and the screen didn’t always work. I bought my iPhone 6S in a rose gold because I thought it was so pretty. It is a lot better than my old phone, bigger screen, quicker and the camera is higher quality.

There were some great new films which came out last  year. Finding Dory had to be my favourite, new 2016 film. The otters were SO CUTE! If you have watched Finding Dory you will know exactly what I am talking about. My boyfriend bought me baby Finding Dory because she is just adorable. I watched Big Hero 6 for the first time last year and I think it is my all time favourite disney film. It is quite emotional but I think everyone needs a Baymax in their life…and I now have one.

So they are just a few of my favourites from 2016. Please let me know what yours were! I’d love to discover some new products.

The Power of Makeup

Whether you feel confident in your makeup or natural complexion, I am sure after reading this blog post and seeing these photos you’ll realise just how powerful makeup can be.

BeFunky Collage.jpg

I have seen many bloggers and YouTubers talking about ‘The Power of Makeup’ and I was so excited to create it myself. I have a huge interest in makeup and I am always buying a new beauty product, experimenting with different looks and reading reviews and beauty blog posts.

I wanted to create this post for a number of reasons:

  1. To compare how I looked with and without makeup
  2. To show it is okay to wear makeup
  3. To show it is okay to not wear makeup
  4. To show the power of just a few beauty products

I feel like so many girls are judged everyday on how much makeup they wear or how little makeup. I think it is great to love your imperfections and I do let my family, boyfriend and close friends see me bare skinned. But also I feel a lot more confident in myself once I have applied my makeup. I feel pretty and happy.

I hope you enjoyed this blog post. I really enjoyed showing ‘The Power of Makeup’. If you have done this post or video please comment your links below; I will look forward to reading them.

January Favourites

Hello lovelies,

I can’t believe it is February. That means I have officially completed dry January! My friends, family and boyfriend all thought I wouldn’t be able to do it. But I didn’t have a single drop of alcohol and I didn’t even miss it.

I had quite a few beauty products in January that I just couldn’t get enough of!

Urban Decay – Smoky Palette

My all time favourite during January was my Urban Decay Naked Smokey palette. I have started doing my eye make up quite dark lately and this palette has some gorgeous shades. I use the shades password, whiskey, combust and thirteen for a more natural look. I find the shades high, dirtysweet and radar go really well together. The dark colours in the middle of the palette create the perfect smoky eye. Overall Urban Decay hasn’t failed to dissapoint me. These colours are gorgeous and very different to their other Naked palettes. I also love the brush that comes with this eye shadow palette as I find it is great for blending.

Clinique – Even Better foundation

At the start of January I bought my first ever designer foundation. I have only ever used drugstore foundations however I thought I would treat myself and get my skin matched. The lovely lady within Debenhams, Clinique found the perfect colour for me. I have used this foundation everyday. The foundation costs £25 and I do really think it is worth the money as it has great coverage. It is great if you are buying your first designer foundation!

MAC – Copperplate Matte Eyeshadow

For Christmas I got bought this gorgeous MAC eye shadow. This is now my second MAC eye shadow and I can honestly say it is so good! I don’t have any similar colours to this and it is so pigmented. MAC eye shadows can be a little pricey as they about £13 and it is only a small tub; they do last ages though!

Urban Decay – All Nighter

This is my life saver! I always used to borrow Amy’s before a night out and it actually kept my make up on! It is so good and really worth the money. I used to get scared and think it would make my make up run when I sprayed it, but it doesn’t aha!

Yves Saint Laurent – Concealer

I have needed a designer concealer for a while now and this is definitely worth the money. It has amazing coverage and it stays on for the whole day. I love the packaging as well!

Yves Saint Laurent – 206

My first every YSL lipstick! I am in love with this colour. This lipstick is so lush and stays on for such a long time. Also the packaging is gorgeous. Perfect for winter.

MAC Lipstick – D for Dangerous

I can never ever not like MAC lipsticks, there will always be one in my favourites! I have a thing for matte lipsticks at the moment and this colour is so pretty.

NARS – Contour Blush

This was a lovely Christmas treat! The colours are gorgeous and it is very pigmented. It is a little pricey though as it is about £30. However it has great coverage and the product lasts ages.

Real Techniques – Flat Contour Brush

This brush is from the Real Techniques bold metals collection. I love the colour of this brush, it is a beautiful rose gold. I love how it has such a long handle as well because I find it easier to apply my make up with. The bristles are very soft and gentle on the skin as well.

Have you used any of these products before? Comment links to your favourites below as I would love to read all about them.

Clinique Anti-Blemish Solutions 3 Step Review

So I have been getting a lot of spots and redness lately so I treated myself to some Clinique skincare products. My bestfriend recommended this to me and now I am recommended it all to you!

So I have been using this for about a week now every night and I am already noticing the results. My redness isn’t as bad anymore and my spots are slowly starting to clear up.

First you use the Anti Blemish Solutions Cleansing Foam. I just squirt a little bit on my hand and rub it into my face.

Then you use the clarifying lotion. I recommend you shaking it before you use it as some of the product settles at the bottom. I pour a little bit of this onto a cotton pad and then dab it onto my face. It is a little strong and you can feel it on your skin but this is to unclog your pores. Then you use the clearing moisturiser and apply it all over your face.

It doesn’t take long to do this routine, it only takes me about 10 minutes. The results are great!

I highly recommend this product and it is at an affordable price of £25.00. You can purchase it here at Boots.

Let me know if you have used this product before and what the results were for you?

2015: what it was to me

Hello lovelies,

So I have scheduled lots of blog posts and I am finally putting a lot more time and effort into blogging. I have taken lots of pretty pictures of new make up, new shoes, some cute outfits and lots more. I am so excited for you to read them.

Now this is a little bit of a late post for saying January is almost over but I wanted to sum up 2015 in a blog post…it was quite a year!

So one of the first main things that happened in 2015 was I went abroad for the first time of my life! Now a lot of people probably can’t believe I have never left the UK, but unfortunately I haven’t. I went to Barcelona the end of January last year with my textiles class for my final unit. It was quite scary getting on a plane for the first time, but I felt very relaxed being around all my friends. I literally loved being in a different country and I can’t wait to leave England again! You can read all about Barcelona here.

Another thing that happened in my life last year is that I left college! I have to admit I was very happy to leave because I found A Levels incredibly hard. I made some great friends through out college and I laughed alot. I will definitely be keeping them memories in my heart forever.

The start of summer me and my boyfriend split up. Obviously I’m not going to talk about it all on my blog as it is personal and private, but it was a mutual decision. Some things just don’t work out and I have no regrets. I felt like I needed to add this into this blog post as obviously it changed my friends and life style quite a lot. But it also made me such a better and stronger person.

The next chapter that came in my life is I left my part time job, Debenhams. This was due to starting my career in Social Media and Digital Marketing, which definitely has to be a highlight of 2015 because I love my job so much! I made some great friends whilst working at Debenhams which I still stay in contact with and have nights out with now and again. Above is a photo from my ‘Leaving Debenhams’ night out.

Another exciting thing that happened last year was I went to my first ever festival! You can read all about it here. I made some great friends at YNOT and it probably was one of the best weekends of my life, I still say that even now. I have never laughed so much in one weekend and been so happy. I will never forget the memories from that weekend (except the ones that are a bit fuzzy). You can read all about YNOT here.

2015 also brought me one of my bestfriends! Me and Amy did already know each as we both failed in the same Business class at college (oops) but we never really spoke. We went on a night out together because we were both bestfriends with the same girl and ever since then we pretty much seen each other every week, have gone on hundreds of nights out and had so many laughs! I love my bestfriend so much, she has been such a good friend to me and given me some great laughs.

I also turned 19 last year! Wow 19?! It didn’t seem 5 minutes since I was turning 18 and going on my first ever night out. I had a great birthday! Probably my favourite birthday. I went to Sheffield on the Saturday shopping with the girls, then Saturday night we all went to Notts for a night out. None of my friends had been to Notts before so we all really enjoyed it. I remember it turning 12:00 and me screaming because it was officially my birthday.

Unfortunately 2015 took away one of my friends. RIP lovely, you will be missed by so many xxxxx

So 2015 did have its ups and downs, it was quite a busy year now that I have thought about it. I have made some great friends, been given memories I will never forget but most importantly I have learnt to love myself.

Loving yourself is a very hard thing to do, I found it very hard. 2015 taught me to focus on myself and my goals. I am a lot more confident, happier and feel like I have become a better person. It does take time though, I am even still working on it now. But I think it is so important to sometimes in life put yourself first and not others. Think about your feelings and how you are so important as well. Remember that everything happens for a reason and even the worst situations will leave you so much stronger.

I hope you are all okay and have a great and healthy 2016.

I look forward to focusing on my blog again this year.

Love ya all

Favourite things about Christmas

Hello lovelies,

Christmas is coming up and everyone has those traditional things they love about it every year. One thing I do look forward to once it hits December is advent calendars! I love choosing which one I am going to have and remembering to open it each morning. I know I am starting to get older as sometimes I have to have 2 in one day. This year I chose to have Malteasers and it has jokes in which is cute haha.

As you know I LOVE penguins, another one of my favourite things is how much penguin merchandise comes out during Christmas. Whether it’s Christmas cards, wrapping paper, stockings, teddies or just jumpers. This means I get to wear my penguin Christmas jumper! I love my Christmas jumper because it is quite subtle and it is cute.

I also love buying my friends and family presents. I get so creative and I can think of some really thoughtful ideas. I love wrapping them up as well and making them really pretty by adding bows etc. It takes me ages to find gift bags and wrapping paper that I like! I cannot just buy any old wrapping paper, it has to be nice haha!

I LOVE Christmas parties as well. I love dancing to all the Christmas songs and playing all the traditional games you only really bring out at Christmas! It is just so much fun haha!

What are your favourite things about Christmas?

Outfit of the week (8) – Autumn Inspired

Hello my lovelies!

Wow, I haven’t done an outfit of the week for a very long time. These were some of my most popular blog posts so I thought I would start doing them again on a regular basis! As you all probably know it is now my favourite season so that means I can wear my autumn/winter clothes! I feel a lot more confident in these clothes as I feel like I become much more fashionable.

Just before my festival I bought a brown cloak to keep me warm throughout my festival, however I think it is perfect for Autumn. This goes with everything; dresses, skirts, jeans or just leggings! It is such a nice brown and it keeps you very warm. I have styled this with my new skirt which I bought from New Look (no surprise). I literally adore the pattern of this skirt and you can dress it up or down. I always prefer to wear a black top with this skirt however white goes just fine! My black top is 3/4 length sleeved and is just off the shoulders. To finish this outfit I think brown boots go perfectly with it. It just makes it that extra autumnal and makes me feel super cute.
