2016 Favourites

In 2016 there were a lot of products I used again and again. Here are a few of my 2016 favourite products.

Spectrum Brushes:
During 2016 I bought quite a few Spectrum Brushes. They are not too expensive, they are very pretty looking, they are very soft and they don’t malt. The brushes are vegan and cruelty registered. I first heard of Spectrum Brushes on Twitter, I noticed a lot of beauty bloggers were using them and recommending them. I also saw celebrities were starting to review and advertise them. I bought my first set in the sale and I couldn’t stop using them. Recently my collection has grown and I now understand why they are always selling out. You can visit Spectrum brushes at: https://www.spectrumcollections.com/

MUA Highlighter:
I am obsessed with highlighters and I think it has to be my favourite make up product to apply. My friend recommended the MUA highlighter to me this year. It is only £3.00, is very pigmented and comes in a lovely pink or white shade. I highly recommend this highlighter because it is great value for money. http://www.superdrug.com/MUA/MUA-Undress-Your-Skin-Highlighting-Powder—Pink-Shimmer/p/633150

MAC Lipstick (Persistence):
I think everyone knows how much I love my MAC lipsticks! A shade I used a lot last year was ‘Persistence’. This is a matte shade and is a nude lipstick. This shade goes with a lot of make up looks and it is quite subtle.

Lazy Days Zoella Candle:
I love candles. I always have to light a candle whilst I am chilling in my room. When I heard that Zoella was bringing out a range of candles I was really excited. My boyfriend bought me ‘Lazy Days’ for our lazy Sundays. It is a calming scent and quite fresh. They are £10.00 from Superdrug.

Instax Mini 8:
I have had my Polaroid for a few years now and I still love it. The film is quite expensive but the Polaroid does capture the cute memories.

NYX Liquid Lipsticks:
NYX came to my local boots store this year so I have been trying a few of their products. I have tried their liquid lipsticks and they are amazing! They stay on for a really long time, they have lots of different shades and they are only £6.50. They are light on the lips which is great because some liquid lipsticks are very thick.

MAC Air of Style:
I have never tried MAC perfume before but I love MAC Air of Style. It is quite a fruity scent and it stays on for a while. It’s a little pricey for just 30ml, but the smell is gorgeous!

Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray:
Urban Decay setting spray is the best setting spray you can buy in my opinion. I just couldn’t believe how long my make up stayed on for – especially after a night out. It is about £22 but I do believe it is worth if. I bought mine from Debenhams!

Sleek I Divine Palette Enchanted Forest:
I have bought from Sleek a highlighter, eyebrow and contour kit but I have never purchased their eyeshadow until last year. I loved the shades in this pallete and they blended nicely. The eyeshadow is pigmented and stays on. I love how I can pop this small pallete into my bag or take it on holiday. I bought mine from Boots: http://www.boots.com/en/Sleek-I-Divine-palette-Enchanted-Forest_1744236/

iPhone 6s:
Another thing I loved last year was my new iPhone 6S. I had the iPhone 5s before which I had for 3 years. It had been dropped a few times, was a little bit scratched, the silent button had broke and the screen didn’t always work. I bought my iPhone 6S in a rose gold because I thought it was so pretty. It is a lot better than my old phone, bigger screen, quicker and the camera is higher quality.

There were some great new films which came out last  year. Finding Dory had to be my favourite, new 2016 film. The otters were SO CUTE! If you have watched Finding Dory you will know exactly what I am talking about. My boyfriend bought me baby Finding Dory because she is just adorable. I watched Big Hero 6 for the first time last year and I think it is my all time favourite disney film. It is quite emotional but I think everyone needs a Baymax in their life…and I now have one.

So they are just a few of my favourites from 2016. Please let me know what yours were! I’d love to discover some new products.

The Liquid Lipsticks Hype

Hey guys,

I have noticed there has been a huge craze on liquid lipsticks and think this happened when Kylie Jenner brought out hers. I have joined the hype and bought some to see what the craze is all about. So far, so good.

The first two I bought were the NYX Lingerie lipsticks in the colours Lipli12 and Lipli02. I have to say I am impressed! The first time I wore one of these was for a night out and it stayed on all night, I barely had to touch it up. Usually on nights out I have to constantly keep topping up but I didn’t need to for this! They have a range of colours and they are very affordable. I have never bought anything from NYX but when it moved into my local boots it has now become one of my favourite make up brands.

Another one that I purchased was the Borjois liquid lipstick in the colour velvet. This only has a matte finish, so it doesn’t dry completely like the NYX versions. I love this colour as it goes with a lot of my make up looks. However I found that it didn’t stay on for as long as the others.

Due to Autumn coming up, I decided I wanted a more autumnal liquid lipstick, so I went and bought a Sleek one. Now this is more of a matte lip cream but I treat it like the same. I got this in the colour Vino Tinto and it is perfect for Autumn. This stays on for such a long time.

I love liquid lipsticks because they are so easy to apply, last ages and they are not sticky like most lipgloss.

I highly recommend you to try one! Which is your favourite?

January Favourites

Hello lovelies,

I can’t believe it is February. That means I have officially completed dry January! My friends, family and boyfriend all thought I wouldn’t be able to do it. But I didn’t have a single drop of alcohol and I didn’t even miss it.

I had quite a few beauty products in January that I just couldn’t get enough of!

Urban Decay – Smoky Palette

My all time favourite during January was my Urban Decay Naked Smokey palette. I have started doing my eye make up quite dark lately and this palette has some gorgeous shades. I use the shades password, whiskey, combust and thirteen for a more natural look. I find the shades high, dirtysweet and radar go really well together. The dark colours in the middle of the palette create the perfect smoky eye. Overall Urban Decay hasn’t failed to dissapoint me. These colours are gorgeous and very different to their other Naked palettes. I also love the brush that comes with this eye shadow palette as I find it is great for blending.

Clinique – Even Better foundation

At the start of January I bought my first ever designer foundation. I have only ever used drugstore foundations however I thought I would treat myself and get my skin matched. The lovely lady within Debenhams, Clinique found the perfect colour for me. I have used this foundation everyday. The foundation costs £25 and I do really think it is worth the money as it has great coverage. It is great if you are buying your first designer foundation!

MAC – Copperplate Matte Eyeshadow

For Christmas I got bought this gorgeous MAC eye shadow. This is now my second MAC eye shadow and I can honestly say it is so good! I don’t have any similar colours to this and it is so pigmented. MAC eye shadows can be a little pricey as they about £13 and it is only a small tub; they do last ages though!

Urban Decay – All Nighter

This is my life saver! I always used to borrow Amy’s before a night out and it actually kept my make up on! It is so good and really worth the money. I used to get scared and think it would make my make up run when I sprayed it, but it doesn’t aha!

Yves Saint Laurent – Concealer

I have needed a designer concealer for a while now and this is definitely worth the money. It has amazing coverage and it stays on for the whole day. I love the packaging as well!

Yves Saint Laurent – 206

My first every YSL lipstick! I am in love with this colour. This lipstick is so lush and stays on for such a long time. Also the packaging is gorgeous. Perfect for winter.

MAC Lipstick – D for Dangerous

I can never ever not like MAC lipsticks, there will always be one in my favourites! I have a thing for matte lipsticks at the moment and this colour is so pretty.

NARS – Contour Blush

This was a lovely Christmas treat! The colours are gorgeous and it is very pigmented. It is a little pricey though as it is about £30. However it has great coverage and the product lasts ages.

Real Techniques – Flat Contour Brush

This brush is from the Real Techniques bold metals collection. I love the colour of this brush, it is a beautiful rose gold. I love how it has such a long handle as well because I find it easier to apply my make up with. The bristles are very soft and gentle on the skin as well.

Have you used any of these products before? Comment links to your favourites below as I would love to read all about them.

Belated favourites

Okay so my blog posts that I said would be up every Wednesday didn’t happen this Wednesday due to my exams coming up and my last final weeks of College. Lets just say it has been very stressful. I am getting prepared for my exams now though and feeling a lot more confident about myself and future. I am very excited to finish college.

So I haven’t done a monthly favourites since January so I thought I would just show you a few of my favorite things I have been using a lot recently. Some are new and some I have been using for ages.

Love Tanya-
I bought this book not long ago and I haven’t had time to read it as frequently as I would like to…however I love it! I am just under half way through and I am really enjoying Tanya’s beauty tips and learning more about her.

Floral phone case-
I bought this in London and it was very cheap. It is super cute and it has been on my phone ever since. It is good quality as well due to none of the print coming off.

Enchanted Grace perfume-
Okay so I have to admit I have had this for ages but I have only just started using it. It is such a ‘fresh’ and ‘pretty’ scent and makes me feel very Spring like.

I have heard so many reviews on this so I just had to buy it! I am very pleased with it and it has great coverage. It hides my blemishes and dark circles underneath my eyes.

Benefit pore professional-
As I mentioned in my ‘If it’s blue it’s mine’ post, my friend Emily gave me this and I think it is amazing. It definitely does the trick and it makes my foundation go on lovely after using this.

Maybelline Mascara-
I have also read so many good reviews on this mascara and for a drugstore brand I think it is very good. I love the shape of the brush and it applies very evenly and not in huge clumps like a few drugstore mascara’s do.

Batiste Dry shampoo-
I love the packaging of this dry shampoo and the scent is gorgeous. It has came out in such a perfect season. If only it wasn’t limited edition…

Dr rescue baby lips-
I do love baby lips however the Dr rescue ones are amazing. I prefer them so much more to the ordinary ones and I have been applying it everyday since I bought it. I highly recommend it.

Real techniques Blush brush-
I have never been a fan of using much blusher however since I bought my Revlon highlighter I just can’t stop using this brush. It is a cute pink, good quality and applies the blusher on perfectly.

Revlon highlighter-
I first heard about this in Tanya Burr’s video so I just had to treat myself to some. The colours go lovely together and it makes my cheeks look just that extra pink.

White block sandals-
I have wanted some of these for ages! They were mentioned in my wish list post and I am so glad I bought them. I wear them mostly with my high wasted jeans but they go with pretty much anything. 100% worth the money.

So guys that is all my ‘belated favourites’, a bit of each month really. I hope you enjoyed reading my post! Thank you for all the continued support. Don’t forget to follow me on twitter @inspiredelegan and Instagram @_inspiredelegance

Thanks! Love you lots.

January favourites

Hey guys!

So tomorrow is the last day of January, I can’t believe how fast this month has gone. So I thought I’d best put my January favourites up. This is the first time I have done a months favourites as I am quite new to blogging, so I hope you like it.

Ann Summers bra. I received this for Christmas and I just love it. The pattern on it and because it is black. I wear a lot of black tops and dresses so it goes well with them all. It came with matching underwear as well! I don’t quite know the price of this as it was a present.

Tartan scarf. I love this scarf so much and it goes with almost anything. It was from a little stall in the shopping centre and I think it was about £5. I have been wearing this quite a bit this month due to the snow and the cold temperatures. The texture of it is really nice as well because it so soft.

Vans. I treated myself to some vans this month and I am in love with them. They are my favourite colour and they were in the sale! In the end I got them for about £25.00 and they were suppose to be £47.00. I got them from schuh and these were the last pair and they were in my size! I have never had any vans as I was never too keen on them, but these ones are gorgeous.

Mabel. Mabel and Monty were the main thing this Christmas. If you don’t know who they are they are the penguins from the John Lewis advert. In December I bought the last one that was on the shelf in the John Lewis store. She sits in my room on my cute storage box and I just love her. She is so fluffy and cute.

Black high heels. I have been out this month a few times and these heels are perfect for a night out. They are not too high so they don’t wreck your feet and they just are really comfy. They were from New Look and I think they were about £25.00, I am not entirely sure. I definitely recommend these shoes from New Look! They have some really nice heels in there so I think you guys should check them out.

Essie. This nail polish is in the colour boxer shorts. I think it is gorgeous and I have worn it quite a lot lately. It is one of my favourite shades of blue and it goes with a lot of things, especially my new cute blue coat. Essie nail varnish is really high quality and I recommend you buying some as it lasts for a long time and doesn’t chip as easy.

Tanya burr. I love Tanya Burr’s beauty products. This is one of my favourite nail varnish colours and it is in the colour New York night. It is high quality, a beautiful colour and goes with a lot of things.

Benefit mascara. As you guys know if you have read my previous blog posts that I love my benefit mascara. You can see my review of it at https://inspiredelegance.wordpress.com/2014/12/29/new-beauty-products/

Rogue by Rhianna. This perfume smells gorgeous, I got it as a gift so I don’t know how much it cost. The packaging is cute, the smell is really nice and it is in a nice bottle. I wear this perfume for when I am going for a night out or somewhere special.

Black handbag. So I got this bag as a gift as well and I have been using it for college a lot. it is strong, an appropriate size, has 2 different handles you can choose from, fits all my work in and is fashionable. I do know that the bag is from H&M but I don’t know the price.

I hope you like my favourites. Thank you for reading. Let me know what some of your January favourites are!

Lipstick obsessed!

beauty.jpgHey guys!

I really need to start writing more blog posts but I have just been so busy because of college and work. I thought I’d write about my lipstick/lip balm collection because it is slowly growing. Whenever I am going out I always have to wear some lipstick or if my lips are getting dry I have to wear lip balm. The picture above is not of my full collection but it is just a few I had with me at the time and picked out.

My lip balm that I use a lot is my blistex raspberry lemonade blast. It smells gorgeous and tastes quite nice too aha! It keeps my lips from becoming dry and I apply it before I go to sleep, when I wake up and before I go out.

I also love Tanya Burr’s lip gloss ‘vampire kiss’, it doesn’t have any glitter in which I love because I don’t like lip glosses that contain glitter and it is very affordable as well. It is the perfect gloss for a night out with friends.

My NARS lipstick ‘fire down below’ is one of my favourites! I wrote a blog post about it not long ago which you can read at https://inspiredelegance.wordpress.com/2014/12/29/new-beauty-products/ and find out more about this lipstick.

My Mac lipsticks will never fail to disappoint either. I have 3 and they are the ones I use constantly. I have rebel, amorous and la vie en rouge. I would not be able to pick a favourite out of them because I just love them all.

Well there is a bit about my lipstick collection! What are your favourite lipsticks? I’ll hopefully be doing another blog post this week.

New beauty products

Hey guys!

BeFunky_null_3.jpgSo for Christmas I got a few new beauty products. These include my new eos lipbalm, my benefit mascara, my benefit eyeliner, my NARS lipstick and my benefit brow zings palette. I thought I’d write small reviews on them so you guys know what they are like and whether you should get them or not.

NARS semi matte lipstick- Fire Down Below – £17.50

I’m going to start with my NARS lipstick which is my favourite lipstick at the moment. I decided to go for a dark red colour as I already have a lot of bright reds. The price of this can vary depending on the the shop/website. This lipstick stays on your lips for a very long time and is easily applied. However the thing that disappointed me was I was expecting it to have a more of a ‘matte’ finish but overall this is a very good lipstick and is worth the money.

Benefit brow zings palette- £24.50

I love this palette! Its small and handy so it will fit in your hand bag. It contains a blending brush, tweezers and a hard angle brush. To use on your eyebrows you put on the pigmented wax first to shape your eyebrow, you do this with the hard angle brush. Then you use the blending brush to apply the natural-shaded powder, this is for setting and filling in any gaps. The palette comes in three different shades; light, medium and deep. I went for medium and if its too light for me I can keep building it up to get it to how dark I want it.

Benefit they’re real mascara- £19.50

This mascara is the best mascara I have ever used. It makes your eyelashes look long and stays on all day. This mascara has very good reviews on it as 100% saw long wearing results. The only bad thing I would  say about this mascara is that it is real hard to remove, make up wipes do not get it off. You have to use eye make up remover  to remove this properly. Benefit have their own make up remover that you can buy from many websites for £16.50.

Eos lipbalm- blueberry acai

This lip balm is one of the best lip balms I have ever used. I haven’t put a price as this varies a lot! Some places do it for £8.00, however I recommend you get it from Amazon because it is so much cheaper and you’ll be saving yourself a lot of money. It smells so nice and leaves your lips feeling soft for hours. These lip balms are worth the money and I highly recommend everyone to buy them.

Benefit they’re real push up liner £18.50

This liner is very different to what I usually use however I love it. You twist the bottom and the gel comes up to the top and you can then start applying it. I find that this liner makes it a lot of easier to give you a straight line and also helps you do flick evenly. It doesn’t smudge and it stays on for a long time as well.
